FINALLY! I have a plethora of photos documenting our year long re-model of our upstairs. Here's a list of all the things we did to completely re-configure the living room/dining room/kitchen area of our home. (And by we, I mean my hot and handy husband...who did ALL the work himself, with a little help from friends and family!) 1. Tore up carpet and padding. 2. Scraped two layers of linoleum...glued down with the nastiest black tar glue you will ever see...off of the whole top floor (except bedrooms). 3. Sanded, stained and sealed the BEAUTIFUL hardwood floors. 4. Tore down a wall. (Thanks, Uncle Danny and Chad for your handy-dandy demo skills). 5.Re-wired the upstairs and replaced old outlets and light switches. (Thanks, Gpa Perriton for the help) 6.Re-plumbed the kitchen by moving the sink and installing lines for the new refrigerator and dishwasher. (Thanks Uncle Nolan for your handy plumbing skills).7. Recovered, reconfigured, sanded and painted new-to-us cabinets. (We found them on craigslist...they were taken out of an older home and sold to us. Will chopped them up to fit our kitchen.) 8. Installed new counter tops and new base molding around the whole top floor. 9. Painted. 10. Built a corner unit to hold our television, xbox and eventually, a fireplace.
